Children’s Ministry
Sunday School
Jesus told his disciples, “Let the children come to me.” It is his desire to see people grow in faith over their entire lives, including as children.
Our children stay with us for most of the Sunday service, where they learn to participate in Christian worship by observing older believers and joining in as they are able. During the sermon, we offer a time of separate children's ministry to children ages 4–11, where they learn the story of the Bible together through song, teaching, and play. We use the God's Big Story curriculum, which invites children to enter into the biblical narrative in its entirety: from creation and the fall, to Jesus' sacrificial victory on the cross, to the promise of a new heaven and earth. The children are escorted back into the sanctuary after the sermon, in time to receive Communion with the rest of the congregation.
Children ages 12+ are invited to remain in the sanctuary to listen to the sermon. Parents of children ages 0-3 are invited to use our nursery space just next to the sanctuary, which has audio of the service piped in.
Our Sunday School teachers and helpers are all trained volunteers who abide by our Diocesan “Plan to Protect” procedures and have passed a police Vulnerable Sector Check.
Summer Day Camp
Every summer we hold our St. Aidan’s Summer Day Camp for children ages 4–11. The best week of summer is filled with fun, friends, games, crafts, and learning about Jesus.
